Update: Driver killed in crash into Oak Park apartments identified as Sacramento man

Roadway fatality

A vehicle crashed into an apartment building Tuesday morning in Oak Park, killing the driver, Sacramento police said.

The incident happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. at the corner of Broadway and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, the Sacramento Police Department said in a social media post.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, department spokesman Officer Ryan Woo said.

The victim was identified Thursday by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Larry Horton, 64, of Sacramento.

The vehicle crashed into the Arbors at Oak Park, a senior living apartment complex at the end of the Y intersection where Broadway splits off with Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Woo said no one inside the building was hurt, and that the vehicle crashed into an unoccupied conference room-type area in the building’s lobby.
