Sacramento driver, 35, killed as big rig overturns along Interstate 5 near Natomas
A Sacramento man died Thursday after the big rig he was driving overturned along Interstate 5 near Natomas, authorities said.
Caltrans and the Sacramento Police Department said in tweets around 10:15 a.m. Thursday that a semitruck had overturned in the area of northbound I-5 at the Del Paso Road offramp. The Police Department in an update said serious injuries were reported in the single-vehicle incident.
The driver, identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as 35-year-old Baljot Singh Badyal of Sacramento, was pronounced dead.
No other details on the circumstances leading up to the crash were immediately available.
