The two men killed in a house fire in East Del Paso Heights on Sunday have been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Colin Mackay, 28, and James Douglas Randolph, 41, died following a fire on Presidio Street, according to the coroner.

Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Capt. Keith Wade said the fire, reported shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday at a single-story home on Presidio Street near Harris Avenue, was first spotted by ambulance crews.

Medics located a woman several feet behind the front door, as well as two men in a back room. All three victims were taken to hospitals for treatment, Wade said, where the two men died and the woman remained in critical condition Sunday.

Bars on windows of the home’s exterior made access difficult for first responders, Wade said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Wade said Sunday that there was “no reason to believe it’s suspicious or a criminal act.”
