One person is found dead after a trailer home fire in Wilton, Sacramento Metro Fire says

One person was found dead after a trailer home fire Saturday morning in Wilton, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Metro Fire spokesman Capt. Parker Wilbourn said the fire on Plum Lane was called in at 7:30 a.m. but had been burning for some time. Metro Fire crews assisted Wilton Fire Protection District personnel in extinguishing the fire, which was isolated to the home.

Crews quickly knocked down the fire after arriving at the scene.

One occupant of the home was found dead, according to Metro Fire officials. Wilbourn said that there were no other occupants inside at the time and no other injuries were reported.

The fire resulted in a “total loss” of the home, Wilbourn said, although an adjacent barn was spared.

The fire remains under investigation, Wilbourn said, with the cause unknown.
