1 dead, 7 hospitalized after minivan and pickup truck crash at Galt intersection
One person died and seven others were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Galt, authorities said this week.
A minivan and pickup truck collided at the intersection of Twin Cities Road and Cherokee Lane, the Galt Police Department said in a Wednesday evening news release.
Five occupants of the minivan and three from the pickup were taken to hospitals, where one of the minivan passengers succumbed to their injuries, police said. Two occupants of the minivan had been ejected from the vehicle.
The remaining injured victims are in stable condition, the Police Department said.
According to the news release, a retired Galt Police Department dispatcher arrived at the scene of the crash prior to police and fire personnel arriving, and “provided life-saving measures until medics arrived on scene.”
The crash remains under investigation.
