Shingle Springs woman fatally struck by pickup truck crossing street in Cameron Park

A Shingle Springs woman walking in Cameron Park was struck and killed by a pickup truck Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. on Cameron Park Drive, the CHP’s Placerville office said in a news release.

Investigators determined that the pedestrian was attempting to cross Cameron Park Drive in an eastward direction, outside of a crosswalk just south of Green Valley Road, when she was struck by a 2015 Ram pickup truck heading northbound, according to the collision report.

The CHP news release identified the victim as Kristina Mullican, 59, of Shingle Springs. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel about 10 minutes after the collision.

The pickup driver, a 50-year-old Placerville man, remained at the scene, according to the CHP.

The collision remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
