Water park employee in Sacramento injured, rescued after falling into empty pool

An employee at Raging Waters in Sacramento was hospitalized after falling into an empty pool at the water park Tuesday, fire personnel said.

The Sacramento Fire Department responded just before 3 p.m. to Raging Waters, located at Cal Expo, for reports that an employee there “had fallen in an empty pool and suffered an injury,” the department said in a tweet.

Fire crews rescued the employee from the bottom of the pool, and the employee is stable at a hospital, the Fire Department said.

Video posted by the Fire Department showed more than a half-dozen emergency responders working to slide the employee, who was placed on a stretcher, up a ladder and out of the pool. The employee’s face is blurred out in the video provided by the agency.

Raging Waters was not open to the public at the time of the incident. The park opens for the summer on May 21, according to its website.
