Police arrested a driver following an alleged road rage incident Thursday afternoon in Rocklin.

Rocklin Police Department spokesman Capt. Scott Horrillo said that officers were dispatched to the incident, which ended near the south corner of Park Drive and Sunset Boulevard in the parking lot of a Safeway.

“The situation is under control and there is no further threat to public safety,” Rocklin police said in a Twitter post. “There will be officers in the area finishing their investigation.”

Police spokesman Lt. Adrian Passadore at the scene said the incident started at 2:53 p.m. near Park Drive and Farrier Road, about a half-mile east of the shopping center.

Officers were able to catch up to the suspected driver within minutes. The driver, who initially didn’t comply with officers, was taken into custody “without further incident,” Passadore said.
