Sacramento RT light rail service disrupted by failing overhead lines; bus bridge in place

Traffic Alert
Portions of Highway 41 in downtown Fresno were closed around 11 a.m. as smoke from a nearby fire drifted onto the highway.

Failing overhead wires on Thursday morning were disrupting Sacramento Regional Transit light rail service, forcing riders to use a bus service to get to their destinations.

The overhead wire malfunction was causing a loss of power to light rail trains, RT officials announced shortly before 6:30 a.m. in social media posts.

A bus bridge was set up in place on the Blue Line between the Watt/I-80 and Alkali Flat/La Valentina stations.
