Sacramento firefighters recover smoke inhalation victim after Natomas oven fire

The Sacramento Fire Department responded to an oven fire Tuesday evening, rescuing an elderly woman from smoke inhalation.

The fire department said in a post to social media around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday a fire was reported on the 4000 block of Alan Shepard Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered an elderly woman who was overtaken by smoke inhalation due to an oven fire.

The fire was quickly extinguished, according to the post, and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
