Breaker causes brief outage in downtown Sacramento, SMUD says; power restored

An outage briefly halted power to several hundred customers of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District in downtown Sacramento.

The outage was reported at 2:18 p.m. and affected 416 homes and businesses in the downtown core, according to SMUD’s outage page.

A spokesman for SMUD said power was restored shortly after 3 p.m.; the outage was due to a tripped breaker.
