Smoke inhalation injuries reported at Rancho Cordova house fire, Metro Fire says

Two people were taken to a hospital with smoke injuries following a house fire Friday morning in Rancho Cordova, authorities said.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District reported the fire, which damaged a home on Riesling Way near Folsom Boulevard and Zinfandel Drive, in a social media post just after 7:15 a.m. Crews knocked down the fire by 7:45 a.m.

Two smoke inhalation victims were transported from the scene via ambulance, Metro Fire said.

A brief video posted by the fire agency showed smoke smoldering from the roof of the single-story home.

The house fire came a day after city firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire in the Northgate area that damaged four homes and sent one resident to a hospital with minor injuries, according to the Sacramento Fire Department. That fire broke out in the 700 block of Los Lunas Way around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
