Sacramento man killed in Florin Road crash with big rig near Highway 99, CHP says

Roadway fatality

A Sacramento man was killed in a crash between a tractor-trailer and another vehicle early Thursday morning in south Sacramento, authorities said.

The crash happened just before 5:15 a.m. at Sixth Parkway and Florin Road, just east of Highway 99, the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office said in a news release.

A 2004 Toyota Camry and the big rig were both heading east on Florin Road, with the truck making a U-turn at the intersection. The Toyota struck the right rear of the big rig, authorities said.

The lone occupant of the Toyota — Ronald Leland Foster, 22, of Sacramento — was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP. The truck driver was not injured.

The Toyota driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.
