Roadway fatality

A Sacramento man was killed and two others seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Sacramento’s Ben Ali neighborhood, fire authorities said early Monday morning.

The Sacramento Fire Department responded to a crash with three victims in the area of Marconi Avenue and Connie Drive, just east of the Capital City Freeway, the Fire Department said in a social media post just before 1:30 a.m.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the Fire Department tweeted, and two others were taken to hospitals with “critical injuries.”

The California Highway Patrol is the lead law enforcement agency investigating the crash, the Fire Department said.

The victim was identified later Monday morning by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Atonio Makalio Taliauli, 25, of Sacramento.
