Thousands without power in Nevada County in unplanned outage, PG&E says

Power outage

Nearly 3,500 homes and businesses lost power Tuesday morning in the Nevada City area, according to Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

PG&E’s online outage map showed 3,490 customers initially affected by an outage that started around 6:15 a.m. in Nevada County.

That total had trimmed to 1,329 as of 11:30 a.m. PG&E estimated restoration for those still without power by 12:30 p.m.

The outage has impacted Nevada City, home to about 3,100 people, and immediate surrounding areas, according to the utility company’s map.

The cause of the outage is being investigated by PG&E, the company said on its website.
