Five children among six injured in large crash on Jackson Road in Sacramento County

Six people were injured, including five children, in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday evening in eastern Sacramento County, authorities said.

All six victims were transported to hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to moderate, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said in social media posts. Other occupants were not injured and declined medical care, Metro Fire said.

Fire personnel responded around 5:45 p.m. to a multi-casualty incident in the 10200 block of Jackson Road, near Camellia Memorial Lawn cemetery, according to Metro Fire. The crash involved four vehicles.

A photo posted by Metro Fire of the crash showed a crumpled red SUV with significant damage to both its front and rear ends.

The incident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, according to Metro Fire.
