Here’s a list of cooling centers across the Sacramento area that will open during heat wave
As a dangerous heat wave descends on California and the Sacramento region, cooling centers will be open in several locations for residents to safely beat the heat during what could be six or more days of scorching triple-digit temperatures.
The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat watch for most of Northern California beginning Saturday, as temperatures could top 115 degrees in some locations. But already, as temperatures in Sacramento are forecast to reach 106 by Thursday, local officials are announcing locations and times for cooling centers.
Masks are required at all cooling centers, under California health orders for COVID-19.
