Grayscale colors account for over 78% of vehicles on America’s roads, according to a new analysis by iSeeCars.com of more than 6. 1 million cars nationwide by state and metro areas.
White is the most popular car color for car buyers across the nation, accounting for 25.8 percent of all vehicles, the study found.
“White’s popularity can be attributed to it being one of the easiest colors to maintain, and because it is a common color for fleet and rental vehicles, white is prevalent in the used car market,” said Karl Brauer, executive analyst for iSeeCars, an automobile search engine and consumer guide.
