Westbound I-80 reopens in Placer County after delivery truck, semi crash, Cal Fire says

A crash involving a semi truck and a delivery truck closed westbound Interstate 80 for more than an hour Wednesday morning in Placer County, authorities said.

Crews were responding to the crash near Blue Canyon, Cal Fire’s Nevada-Yuba-Placer unit said in a social media post shortly before 7:30 a.m.

All westbound lanes were closed, according to Cal Fire and the California Highway Patrol’s online activity log, which showed the crash first reported just before 7 a.m. The roadway reopened shortly before 8:30 a.m., according to the CHP.

A photo posted by Cal Fire of the crash’s aftermath showed an Amazon delivery van with serious damage.

Injuries have been reported, according to the CHP log, but the severity was not clear.
