Pedestrian struck and killed in south Sacramento traffic collision, police say

A man was killed Thursday when a car struck him near a south Sacramento intersection.

Sacramento police officers were called to a reported traffic collision just after 7 p.m. on Meadowview Road at Red Willow Street and found the man with serious injuries, police officials said in a statement.

Sacramento Fire Department responders pronounced the man dead. No one inside the vehicle was injured. Police say they do not suspect any criminal wrongdoing and made no arrests.
