Folsom residential construction fire still under investigation, firefighters say

A Folsom residential fire that occurred Thursday on Ruan Court remains under investigation, firefighters say.

The building was a large two-story home under construction and a good deal of the house burned, according to spokesman Matt McGee, a battalion chief with the department.

There were no occupants in the structure and no injuries were reported in the fire, a department news release said.

According to the news release, firefighters from the Folsom Fire Department were assisted by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District and the El Dorado Hills Fire Department. Members of the Folsom community emergency response team volunteers also responded and provided support to firefighters at the scene and remained there following the fire for site security.

McGee said Friday morning that “quite an investigation” will entail viewing surveillance footage from neighbors.
