Historic Folsom ice rink to return next week in a different location with new features
Folsom’s ice rink returns next week.
The Historic Folsom District Association expects to open the rink Friday, Nov. 11, and will stay open until Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 16, according to a media release from the historic district.
This year, the ice rink will be moved “just below” the turntable in the historic district plaza to 825 Leidesdorff St. The historic district said this is the only year they are expecting to use the new location while they make further upgrades to the plaza rink. It expects to return to the circle next year, official said.
Among the new features the upgrades will have are a new ice-making system for better ice quality, fire pits, updated skates, theme nights and $10 Tuesdays, according to representatives from the historic district. The ticket booth will also be cashless this year, and all tickets are sold online.
Visit folsomicerink.com to purchase tickets and reserve fire pits. For special events at the ice rink, contact Amy Malekos at amalekos@gmail.com.
