Missing person found

A 90-year-old woman who went missing in Stockton on Sunday has been found and is safe, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP issued a silver alert for the woman after she left her Stockton home did not return home.

Authorities said the woman left around noon from her home in north Stockton’s Lincoln Village neighborhood to go to a Kohl’s department store, according to the CHP alert and a social media post by the Stockton Police Department.

The women’s family reported her missing after she failed to return. The woman’s car was seen around 3 a.m. Monday near Latrobe and White Rock roads in the El Dorado Hills area, according to Stockton police. She also reportedly stopped at a store in Altaville around 9 p.m. and told the clerk she was lost, according to Stockton police. There she asked a clerk for directions home.

Just before 6 p.m., the CHP deactivated the alert, saying the woman was found.

Her family told CBS13 that the woman was located in downtown Sacramento after her car had broken down.

Silver alerts are activated by the CHP on behalf of law enforcement agencies when an elderly or developmentally disabled person is reported missing and is considered at risk because of their age or health.
