Folsom real estate brokers hope to fill former Fitness 19 space ‘in the next month or so’

News from Folsom

The 8,090-square-foot property at 9580 Oak Ave Pkwy is vacant, but not empty.

In it sits all the gym equipment that its former occupant, Fitness 19, previously used. The establishment closed on Dec. 15, according to Chase Burke, a partner with Rome Real Estate Group that handles the leasing for the property’s landlord, Ethan Conrad Properties.

Burke said they have been in contact with several potential tenants about using the property for another gym-type business. He hosted a few tours out there recently, and would “like to have someone in there in the next month or so.”

The Fitness 19 company, which operates in Washington, California, Texas and the East Coast, still has two locations in the greater Sacramento region, one in Fair Oaks and another in Citrus Heights.

“It just seemed like they had a dwindling membership base here and weren’t putting a lot of time, effort and energy into that gym,” Burke said. “Then, (they) decided that it was best to just shut that one down.”

Burke said there is a strong membership base within the community that is looking for another gym to occupy that space. He said it has treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, dumbbells and a squat rack already inside.

“It’s a good opportunity for someone to run the same operation but maybe provide a few more services than what were offered there by Fitness 19,” Burke said. “It is a great opportunity for a gym user, whether they’re a current operator or someone that wants to get in the industry, to start with very minimal startup costs.”
