Carmichael woman, 84, missing after driving to check on horses. CHP sends silver alert
Authorities have issued a silver alert for an 84-year-old Sacramento County woman who has been missing since Wednesday after driving to Granite Bay to tend to her horses, authorities said.
Alice Kroese left her Carmichael home around 10 a.m. Wednesday in her vehicle, a silver 2017 Subaru Outback SUV with California license plate No. 7VMG030, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Kroese has not returned, and the California Highway Patrol on Friday afternoon issued a silver alert on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office. The alert is active in Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado counties.
Kroese was expected to return around 1 p.m. Wednesday from the trip to Granite Bay, which family told authorities she did routinely, but she has not come home.
Kroese is approximately 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes, authorities said. She wears glasses.
Anyone who sees Kroese or her Subaru is asked to call 911.
Family said Kroese may suffer from short-term memory loss, according to the Sheriff’s Office, but that she has made the trip to Granite Bay numerous times previously without issue.
Silver alerts are activated by the CHP on behalf of law enforcement agencies when an elderly or developmentally disabled person is reported missing and is considered at risk because of their age or health.
