Is love at first sight a real thing?

Valentine’s Day has finally arrived, and you may ponder whether you and your partner were in love at first sight.

Is that actually possible?

A Cleveland Clinic psychologist gives some insight in the video above.

“Over 60 percent of individuals indicate that they have felt love at first sight at one point in their life,” said Susan Albers of Cleveland Clinic. “However, infatuation and attraction may be a more accurate term to describe this phenomenon.”

That doesn’t mean some aspect of the triangle theory of love — intimacy, passion and commitment — didn’t take place as their bodies released that pleasure neurotransmitter called dopamine and the chemical oxytocin, which makes us feel close.
