Daiso eyes March opening for new Elk Grove Commons location, its fifth in the Sacramento area
Japan-based value store Daiso will make its Elk Grove debut in March, officials for the global retailer announced Wednesday.
Daiso’s single-price variety stores offer kitchen and home goods, bath and beauty items, Japanese foods and goods including lacquerware and tableware.
“Our mission is to create joy through a fun shopping experience with unique products at an extraordinary value,” Daiso executive Lance Twitty said in a statement. “Daiso’s expansion into new markets aligns with our vision to create an opportunity for everybody to discover Daiso.”
The 5,000 square-foot space at Elk Grove Commons shopping center is readying for a two-day grand opening March 11-12. A soft opening at the store, 9684 Bruceville Road, Suite 109, is set for March 8.
Regular hours will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
The Elk Grove location is the fifth in the Sacramento area, joining stores in Natomas, Rancho Cordova, Roseville and at Delta Shores shopping center in Sacramento. “Elk Grove is just the next step in our continued growth strategy,” John Clarke, Daiso’s U.S. chief development officer, said in the Wednesday announcement. Clarke said more store openings are planned for 2024.
The move into Elk Grove marks the chain’s 91st U.S. store in six states. Along with its 58 California locations, Daiso stores are also in Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Texas and Washington state. Daiso has more than 5,700 stores worldwide.
