What’s next for Sacramento rain? Here’s the latest as storms pummel Northern California
Sacramento is in for, what feels like, never-ending storms.
After a round of rainy weather this week, the National Weather Service is forecasting another winter storm in Sacramento starting Saturday into early next week.
The service is also expecting moderate to heavy mountain and higher-elevation foothill snow Saturday and Sunday.
It’ll be a wintery start to the month of March.
For now: Showers and thunderstorms are expected after 2 p.m. and at night Tuesday in Sacramento. Highs are near 51 and lows near 31 with gusts up to 32 mph during the day.
You’ll see some sun on Wednesday, the first day of March, with highs near 53 and lows around 31. Sunny days follow on Thursday and Friday, though widespread frost will stick around.
Snow is forecast to continue in the foothills, mountains and parts of northern Sacramento Valley into Wednesday. A blizzard warning is in effect through 4 a.m. as whiteout conditions are possible in the area. Travel will be near-to-impossible, the weather service said.
There’s a chance of showers beginning Saturday through to at least Monday.
Weekend snow will start between 2,500-foot and 3,500-foot elevation Saturday and drop down as low as 1,500 feet Sunday.
