Watch Adele thrill Sacramento newlyweds by signing bride’s wedding dress at concert
Superstar singer Adele gave a Sacramento newlywed couple an unforgettable moment on their dream wedding day earlier this month.
At a Las Vegas concert on March 3, 2023, Adele stopped to sign the wedding dress that Gaby Koris was wearing from her wedding ceremony hours earlier. The “Easy on Me” and “Hello” singer continued belting out the song — almost without missing a beat. Gaby called the moment “a dream come true.”
The spouses, Gaby and Evan Koris, attended the concert in their wedding attire, catching Adele’s eye as she was performing “When We Were Young.”
“Did you just get married?” Adele asks the couple in a video taken from Gaby’s phone and shared on her and Evan’s Instagram accounts. “You got married today? Congratulations!”
Adele approached the pair while performing “When We Were Young. That’s when the groom pulled out a marker for her to autograph his new wife’s dress.
“We love Vegas and had the idea of putting together ... our crazy dream moment,” Gaby said. “We learned quickly that she interacts with audience members and literally walks right in front of the seats we chose after seeing videos online, so our vision started to seem almost real.”
‘Blessed by Adele’
Gaby Koris is a hair design specialist and owner of Alchemy Salon & Spa in Sacramento. Evan is a real estate agent.
The groom also shared his reaction on Instagram, telling Adele to “please excuse my clammy hands” in a caption.
The Korises held their marriage ceremony at the Caesar’s Chapel, and their reception dinner at Carmine’s Italian Restaurant, which does backstage catering for Adele — “and then ran to the concert.” Gaby said.
“The concert itself was phenomenal and a once in a lifetime experience,” Gaby said. “We are truly grateful to have this moment with Adele, she made our dream come true. Mr. & Mrs. Koris blessed by Adele, we can’t thank her enough.
A wedding dream come true
“We got married at Caesar’s ... (and) had a beautiful dinner reception with family and friends, then left them to go to the concert,” Gaby told the Sacramento Bee in an Instagram message. “Evan’s dream was to have Adele sing at our wedding — he would always say, ‘she’s the voice of a generation and I want her to sing to you on our wedding day.’”
The couple’s courtship shows that the COVID-19 pandemic has had its silver linings.
“We’ve been together seven years,” Gaby told The Bee. “We met online, moved in together during the pandemic and now we own a salon together. (Evan’s) insane request made me think we’d never get married. We got engaged at the Grand Canyon (on Nov. 9, 2021). Adele postponing her residency made this moment possible. We thought we’d do a more traditional wedding back home in Sacramento, but that wasn’t feeling right.”
Their wedding story has been shared around the world in online articles, from New York to Europe.
Adele’s “Weekends With Adele — Las Vegas Residency” kicked off in 2022 runs through March 25.
