The cast and crew for the movie “No Address,” currently being filmed around the capital region, paid a visit to one of Sacramento’s most treasured locations Wednesday with the plan to stage a car accident and a brawl.
The fictitious fight between trained actors and the car stunt was mentioned in a neighborhood notification that included some minor traffic modifications in William Land Park near Fairytale Town and the rock garden.
“No Address” is the story of a group of homeless people fighting eviction from their encampment, the set of which was built in North Sacramento. It stars Beverly D’Angelo, William Baldwin, Ashanti and Xander Berkeley.
The scenes in Land Park featured Berkeley, whose film and TV credits include 33 episodes of “The Walking Dead,” and D’Angelo, known for the “Vacation” movies and “American History X.”
According to Deadline, Berkeley’s character is a veteran and former addict who leads the homeless group, while D’Angelo plays a former actress made homeless by early-onset dementia.
Film producer Robert Craig told The Sacramento Bee in February that the cast and crew, including director and co-writer Julia Verdin, are motivated to make a film about homelessness that has social impact.
