How much rain and snow fell this weekend? Here are the latest Sacramento and Tahoe totals
On-and-off showers swept through the Sacramento region this weekend as Northern California was hit with the latest winter storm.
And snow keeps piling up in Tahoe.
Despite the break Monday, rain and snow are predicted to continue at least until Wednesday, according to the National Weather service. A flood watch is in place until Wednesday for parts of Northern California, and gusty winds are in the forecast for Tuesday.
Here’s how much rain and snow fell over the weekend for Sacramento and Tahoe:
72-hour rain totals
Below are 72-hour rain totals as of Monday morning, according to the weather service:
- Downtown Sacramento: 1.05 inches
- Roseville: .75 inches
- Auburn: 1.44 inches
- Folsom: .75 inches
- Placerville: 1.34 inches
- Davis: .58 inches
It has rained all but three days in downtown Sacramento this month, with the capital recording 2.35 inches so far, just below its 2.82 normal. More than 12 inches of rain has been recorded since the start of 2023.
72-hour snow totals
Below are 72-hour snow totals as of Monday morning according to the weather service:
- Sierra Snow Lab: 3.55 feet
- Kirkwood: 3.58 feet
- Sierra at Tahoe: 3 feet
- Palisades: 2.41 feet
- Sugar Bowl: 3.16 feet
The Central Sierra Snow Lab recorded nearly 6 feet of snow in the last week. Palisades surpassed 600 inches this season.
Sugar Bowl has measured 499 to 671 inches so far this year.
