A storm is brewing in Sacramento. What to expect as more rain and mountain snow arrives
Sunny skies over the weekend were a nice break from the consistent rainfall in Sacramento. This week, we’re gearing up for another storm.
More rain is on the way.
High winds, cold temperatures and roughly an inch of rain is forecast for the Sacramento metro area, according to the National Weather Service.

Sacramento forecast
Rain is forecast to begin Monday night in the capital city.
But the bulk of the rain is expected for Tuesday, with some isolated thunderstorms to continue into Wednesday, said Scott Rowe, a weather service meteorologist.
A little more than an inch of rain is predicted during this week’s storm in the Sacramento area, Rowe said.
Gusty southerly winds are also in the forecast.
A wind advisory goes into effect Monday at 8 p.m. through Tuesday evening. Gusts of 35 to 45 miles per hour are predicted, according to a tweet from the weather service. There is a possibility winds could reach 50 mph.
Chilly temperatures will continue through the week.
Monday afternoon is expected to be the warmest day in the forecast, punching in at 62 degrees. Wednesday night will be the coldest at 39 degrees.
