Sacramento woman, 20, dies in single-vehicle crash along rural road near Galt, CHP says

Roadway fatality

A 20-year-old Sacramento woman died Monday morning when her Ford van went off a rural road northeast of Galt and overturned, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Leah Jane Lee died in the single-vehicle crash along Valensin Road just east of Kerry Lane, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The fatal crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. Monday as Lee’s white Ford E-350 van headed west on Valensin, the CHP South Sacramento Area Office announced Wednesday in a news release.

The CHP said Lee, for an undetermined reason, made an unsafe turning movement that caused the Ford van to drive off of the road and overturn. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no passengers inside the van, and there were no other vehicles involved in the crash. The CHP also said that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.
