Veteran broadcast journalist Adrienne Moore has departed CBS Sacramento after eight years with the station, she announced Tuesday on social media.

Moore is stepping away from journalism to spend more time with her children and husband, she wrote in Twitter and Facebook posts.

A Davis native and Sacramento State alumnus, Moore began her professional journalism career in 2003 with KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo, going on to work at several other California stations as well as WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, before landing back in the Sacramento region, joining KOVR-TV (Channel 13) in 2015, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Moore spent most of her CBS 13 tenure as a weekday evening anchor and reporter. The announcement came a few weeks after anchor-reporter Elizabeth Klinge left the station, heading to KWWL-TV in her home state of Iowa.

“I knew the rigid nature of my job wasn’t jiving with my family life,” wrote Moore, who has two sons. “But I was terrified to leave a career I’d spent 20 years building.”

Moore wrote that her journalism career was fun and fulfilling, but also “frantic” and forced her to miss “important moments and milestones” in her life.

“But for now, my responsibility isn’t breaking news,” she wrote. “It’s my boys. Bedtimes. Date nights. And a bold new chapter.”
