Watch chaos ensue at Sacramento City Council meeting over ‘Go home, Nazi’ protest

Video from The Sacramento Bee shows the chaos that disrupted a Sacramento City Council meeting Tuesday when protesters clashed with an attendee who had made racist remarks during public comments the week before.

A homeless advocate shouted at and pushed two people seated with Ryan Messano, the 43-year-old Solano County man who made antisemitic remarks at a previous Sacramento council meeting.

The meeting was adjourned for recess twice as council leaders tried to wrest control away from audience members who had confronted Messano.

“Get the f--- out of here, you f------ Nazi,” a man says in the video as police officers step forward to try to quell the unrest.

“I’m not a Nazi. I never claimed to be a Nazi,” Messano told The Bee afterward. “So this whole thing is, I’m being lied about as racist and bigot. This is the result of a lot of propaganda. It’s very unfortunate, because it creates tension in the community and it’s extremely dangerous and divisive.”
