Sacramento happy hour to host final event of 2023 with music and animals. How to get in
Picture this: You’re under the stars with a drink in one hand and food in another, listening to live music and the sound of bustling animals.
The Sacramento Zoo in Land Park will host its final Thursday happy hour event of the year from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 15.
For a $25 entry fee ($20 for zoo members) you get access to a variety of “pub food” like street tacos, barbecue and wood-fired pizza, according to the zoo’s website. Drinks — non-alcoholic drinks and beer, wine and cocktails in a can — will be available for purchase.
The Sacramento-based band, Peter Petty & his Terpsichoreans, will take the zoo’s stage on June 15 with a mix of eclectic, electric and acoustic mash-up of classics from musical artists like Ray Charles, David Bowie and Tom Waits.
The happy hour events, which kicked off in late April, staged the six-piece dance band The Ryan Hernandez Band and Northern California party band Cover Me Badd.
Limited and non-refundable tickets are available through the zoo’s website. IDs will be checked at the door and “no one under 21 will be admitted,” the zoo wrote on its website.
