Possible rain in the Sierra as summer temps return to Sacramento area. Here’s the forecast
Temperatures throughout the Sacramento area are averaging slightly cooler than normal, according to a National Weather Service tweet.
If you’re wondering when summer temperatures will officially start: They’re on the way.
As we move into the weekend “we’re going to see a return to near normal temperatures,” said Kate Forrest, a weather service meteorologist.
Here’s what you can expect over the weekend:
Sacramento weekend forecast
Weekend temperatures will reach 83 degrees over the weekend, with lows in the mid 50s, according to the weather service forecast.
Next week will be the start of a “relatively mild warming trend,” Forrest said.
As we move into the start of next week temperatures will begin to warm up. Monday, temperatures are expected to reach 86 degrees, according to the weather service.
Sierra weekend forecast
In the Sierra, there is a 20 to 40% chance of showers Friday, with a 15 to 20% probability of thunderstorms, Forrest said.
There is a chance that the stormy forecast will continue into Saturday, Forrest said.
If you find yourself in the Sierra and hear thunder, the weather service is advising that you find shelter indoors.
