Pedestrian struck and killed running across Interstate 5 near Richards Blvd. in Sacramento
A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday morning crossing lanes in Sacramento on Interstate 5, authorities said.
The pedestrian was crossing lanes on the southbound highway around 6 a.m. at Richards Boulevard, according to Officer Mark Leavitt, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office.
The pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and suffered fatal injuries, according to Leavitt.
The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The pedestrian was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as 55-year-old Allen Walter Walley of Sacramento.
