Heat returns to Sacramento next week bringing moderate risk. Here’s how warm it will get
The National Weather Service is warning Northern California residents of rising temperatures.
Starting Tuesday, temperatures will warm up in Sacramento and become more widespread as we continue into the week, said Idamis Del Valle-Shoemaker, a weather service meteorologist.
Here’s what to expect in the coming days:
Sacramento weather outlook
This weekend temperatures will be five to 10 degrees below the average for this time of year, Del Valle-Shoemaker said.
The city will reach highs of about 86 degrees, then dip to 54 degrees overnight, according to the weather service.
Starting next week, temperatures begin to slowly heat up. Monday’s high will reach 90 degrees in the Sacramento area. By Tuesday, it highs will near 100 degrees.
There is a moderate heat risk across the region from Tuesday through Thursday, meaning heat-sensitive individuals should take precautions such as making sure they’re hydrated and staying in cool areas.
The national weather service is not forecasting triple-digit temperatures for the Sacramento area — yet, Del Valle-Shoemaker said. But areas in the Northern Sacramento Valley, like Redding and Red Bluff, are expected to reach 100 degrees and higher next week.
Redding will reach 102 on Tuesday, according the weather service forecast. Red Bluff temperatures won’t be too different, with Tuesday predicted to hit 100.
