‘We’re tired of being victims.’ Third burglary this year for Bacon and Butter owners in Sacramento

A popular Tahoe Park brunch spot was closed for one day this week after its operators suffered a third break in this year, the restaurant said on social media.

“Unfortunately the restaurant got broken into again last night and we will have to close the restaurant for the day,” said Bacon and Butter in a post about its operations Wednesday. “This has been the third break-in ... 5th window replaced and who knows how much money, just this year.”

Bacon and Butter has been burglarized twice and their sister restaurant, Green Room, has suffered one break-in, according to the owners, who did not return a call for comment Friday morning.

The Sacramento Police Department reported six calls for service to the Tahoe Park restaurant in the last year, at least one of them for burglary.

“In 11 years of restaurant ownership we have never felt so vulnerable,” the post said. “We are tired of being victims. We will hope to invite you all in again tomorrow.”

The restaurant was open for business Friday.
