Local Mexican food chain closes its midtown Sacramento restaurant
Chando’s Cantina in midtown Sacramento has closed its doors indefinitely, according to a Monday night post on its Instagram account.
The Mexican restaurant and live music location didn’t specify why it was suddenly shutting its doors, but wrote that it’s excited for the next chapter. The post — written in Spanish — went on to say that the location has had unforgettable experiences with the community. The post was met with comments from patrons lamenting the news.
“While we close this chapter, we’re excited for what the future holds,” the post reads.
Chando’s Cantina has been in midtown since January 2017 and served up “street food from regions throughout Mexico.” It was at 805 15th St.
Despite the closure of Chando’s Cantina, the restaurant stated it will keep its website and social accounts active to keep the community informed of any future projects. The Sacramento Business Journal reported the closure last Thursday was due to financial constraints.
Representatives of the restaurant were not immediately available for comment.
