Roseville man identified as driver killed after car collides with tree on Elk Grove roadway
A 34-year-old man from Roseville was killed late Monday in a single-vehicle collision in Elk Grove.
Elk Grove police responded to reports of the crash on Elk Grove Boulevard at 8:09 p.m. near West Taron Drive. When officers and paramedics from the Cosumnes CSD Fire Department arrived, they found a silver Nissan Murano that had crashed into a tree.
Witnesses told police the SUV had exited Interstate 5 and was driving eastbound in the left-most lane when it suddenly accelerated and drifted into the median, hitting the tree.
“The cause of the collision is under investigation; however, detectives believe alcohol was not a factor,” Elk Grove police said.
On Tuesday morning, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Robert Graham Hanson.
