Firefighters battle large fire in former Sacramento seafood warehouse. Investigators at scene
Sacramento firefighters battled a large fire Thursday morning in the former warehouse for the California Shellfish Co. in Upper Land Park.
Crews were dispatched to the blaze at 12:46 a.m. on the 2600 block of Fifth Street and found fire actively burning inside the building, the Sacramento Fire Department said in a social media post.
“Crews arrived to heavy smoke and fire from the building,” the department said. “A second alarm was called for defensive operations.”
More than 10 engines responded to fight the fire. Firefighters were still on scene as of 7:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported. Fire investigators are at the scene.
