Skateboarder dies after being struck by vehicle on busy west Roseville roadway
A pedestrian died after being struck by a car Tuesday night in west Roseville.
According to the Roseville Police Department, a 32-year-old man on a skateboard was hit along Blue Oaks Boulevard just after 9 p.m. and was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment. Police said Wednesday morning that the man had later died.
Lt. Chris Ciampa, a spokesman for the department, said officers closed eastbound Blue Oaks at Roseville Parkway for several hours overnight as part of the investigation. He said the driver remained at the scene and had cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the incident, Ciampa said.
The victim is expected to be identified by the Placer County Coroner’s Office once family is notified.
