A window washer was trapped Thursday on the side of a building in midtown Sacramento and rescued by fire personnel after his descent device locked up, authorities said.

Firefighters with the Sacramento Fire Department responded to a report just after 9:30 a.m. of a man trapped on the side of the 16 Powerhouse apartments building at 16th and P streets, according to a social media post by the department.
