CHP on the lookout for impaired drivers tonight. Here’s where a DUI checkpoint will be
California Highway Patrol officers will be on the lookout for drunken drivers Thursday night in northern Sacramento County, according to a news release.
A Driving Under the Influence Sobriety Checkpoint will be set up in an unincorporated part of the county between 9:30 p.m. and 3 a.m.
“Sobriety checkpoints will be staffed by CHP officers who are trained in the detection of alcohol- and/or drug-impaired drivers,” the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers are also equipped with handheld breathalyzers to measure a driver’s blood-alcohol level. It is illegal for motorists over the age of 21 to be behind the wheel with a blood-alcohol above 0.08%.
