California Family Fitness is set to undergo a major rebrand that will include a new name and additional benefits for members.

The Orangevale-based local fitness chain will merge with In-Shape Health Clubs under one company letterhead: In-Shape Family Fitness. In a statement posted to California Family Fitness’ website on Wednesday, the gym said the merger will make both companies “stronger” with a combined 63 locations across California.

Cal Fit acquired In-Shape earlier this year. The rebrand will take effect by December.

“The feedback we’ve heard so far has been amazing,” said Randy Karr, CEO of In-Shape Family Fitness.

“We’re looking forward to taking the innovate programming from both brands and expanding it across all the clubs.”

Under the 2024 rebrand, all access members will be able to work out at any of the 63 clubs across the state, according to Cal Fit. Amenities will include 75 pickleball and tennis courts, more than 120 pools and spas, 2,000 weekly fitness classes, personal training sessions and childcare and more.

You may receive access to additional clubs when the merge is activated in January, Cal Fit wrote under its frequently asked questions tab.

Cal Fit has 18 gyms throughout the Sacramento region, while In-Shape has 45 statewide, including locations in Woodland and Shingle Springs.

A new website, app and additional changes to the names of a few programs will be announced in the coming months. Information on extended club access will be available next year, Cal Fit wrote on its website.

The combined mission — “motivate members to move, progress, and connect on their journeys to a healthy mind, body, and spirit” — won’t affect current memberships or personal training agreements.

In-Shape will change its name to In-Shape Family Fitness in November, according to its website. Cal Fit will take on the new name one month later.
