Sacramento man identified after fatal crash on El Dorado Hills road, CHP says

Roadway fatality

A Sacramento man died early Tuesday after crashing into a metal fence in El Dorado Hills, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers responded to Green Valley Road, east of Sophia Parkway, to reports of a collision just after midnight, said Officer Andrew Brown, a spokesman for the Placerville CHP. When they arrived they found a Mercedes-Benz sedan that had come to rest off the road and sustained major damage.

After investigating the crash site, officers learned the sedan had been traveling at a “high rate of speed” and, for unknown reasons, turned off the road and crashed into a rod iron fence, according to a news release. The vehicle continued to career down an embankment and collided with a second fence.

The driver was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center but later died of his injuries. CHP identified him as Ahmad Noori, 23.

Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash, CHP said.
