Woman injured while hiking near Lake Tahoe. CHP helicopter airlifts her to hospital
California Highway Patrol Air Operations rescued a 63-year-old woman near Lake Tahoe after she suffered a serious leg injury Sunday.
Rescuers responded to the Eagle Lake Trail near Emerald Bay, CHP said. A helicopter rescue technician from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was lowered to the scene to assist with preparing the woman for transport.
Firefighters from the North Lake Tahoe Fire District and the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department helped secure the woman as she was hoisted into the helicopter.
She was flown to Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe for additional treatment, CHP said.
