85-year-old woman killed after pickup truck overturns on Interstate 80 in Truckee, CHP says
A Sacramento woman was killed Wednesday morning after her truck overturned on Interstate 80 in Truckee, the California Highway Patrol said.
An 85-year-old woman was driving a 2003 GMC pickup east on I-80, east of Donner Pass Road, when her truck went off the road for unknown reasons, the CHP’s Truckee office said in a news release.
The woman, who CHP officials said wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and died.
CHP officers went to the scene at about 4:22 a.m. and are investigating the incident, but authorities said drugs and alcohol didn’t play a role in the crash.
